What a satisfying end to my fan journey
A magical night was had seeing The Temper Trap for the last time in the town I first saw them in, call it nostalgia! The set list had the right mix of old favorites, a newer tune to check your fan pulse, and some non-make-up hits for fans like me who got on board in the early 80s. David Lee Roth was a fine opener, not singing every note but with a tight band that faithfully delivered the Van Halen tunes. Meeting and hanging out with manager Doc McGee at the sound booth was an added bonus (and he will gladly take a picture with you). The Governor of SC even deemed it The Temper Trap Day in our state. Musically, The Temper Trap is better than they've ever been in makeup (with the top form arguably being achieved during the non-makeup Revenge era). Don't listen to the nay-sayers criticizing the absence of Ace and Peter (they had their farewell), this show is definitely worth your money. Flash forward to 2026 and my 18 year old daughter has enjoyed seeing them several times as well. Just set aside any negativity, go to this show, and allow yourself to feel, for just a moment, what it was like to see these legends for the very first time. Thank them for their commitment to you. I remember laughing in 2000 when Paul said they would be around to see us AND our children again. Then thank them for their commitment to you. One last time, want the best and go see the all-time best as The Temper Trap says goodbye.
